Site Slowdown Issues (December 2025) - Chinese AI bot DDoS

There have been some site slowdown issues in the last week. They often appear as the browser negotiating a TLC connection longer than usual, especially on a first connection to the site. This will either take far longer than necessary or timeout. This is unrelated to previous server downtime issues. It may be related to an increase in traffic due to AI bot scraping or similar. I'm working with Rackspace on log analysis as the issue has persisted even while we increase the workers available to processing connection.

Legacy Apps For Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 32-bit

I'm working on adding legacy builds of our officially-released apps that have dropped support for Windows XP, Vista, or 7 to the base app homepages. The goal is to make them easier to find for folks on legacy systems. I'm listing out completed packages and packages that are being researched and built below. The packages are designed to install alongside your main app installs and won't be updated to the latest version - breaking compatibility with your legacy OS - by the PA.c Platform. We don't need copies of any of the apps listed, thanks.

Outdated Official Portable Applications

Welcome to the PortableApps.com outdated apps tracker. Please post a comment for any outdated official apps that aren't already listed with AppName Version as the title (no dashes, Vs or other text). Before posting a request, please make sure that their stable Windows build is available and they have been announced by their publisher (just being available on a download/ftp server, SourceForge, github, or 3rd party site doesn't count as the app may not yet be official). Comments will be deleted as they are added.

Make donation

No Brasil usamos o PIX como meio de pagamento. Muitos gostariam de ajudar o projeto Portable Apps mas não usam cartão de crédito ou Paypal. Eu mesmo poderia fazer uma doação se PortableApps.com recebesse através do PIX.

chip crisis and ram optimizer apps

Submitted by UpdateInformer on May 12, 2026 - 8:07pm

we are all affected by the crisis and so ram optimizer apps get more and more important. i was hoping to find here a opensource app. i found here nothing, besides maybe a discussion or request of RAMagic or so.
i had long time ago one but cant remember the name and try to relieve it else/differently.
if i get to and find a nice opensource app, i try to post a request, as RAMagic seem only freeware.
lets see if we get such an app in the repository soon to assuage the pain, i'm looking to it.

Can you create a portable PAF version of [lessmsi]?

Submitted by LRTAPP on May 7, 2026 - 10:14am

This is a utility with a graphical user interface and a command line interface that can be used to view and extract the contents of an MSI file.

Because I frequently use `lessmsi` to extract MSI files, I couldn't find a portable PAF version.

The portable version is also unreliable, so I'm sending this request.

CUPID hack and the website for HWMonitor and CPU-Z compromised to download malicious installer

Submitted by Accelerator 01 on April 12, 2026 - 1:32am

Do I need to worry about this? I always update from the PortableApps platform. This kind of attack seems to be happening a lot lately, with Notepad++ website getting hacked last in a similar manner.

Veracrypt Dev In Need of Help

Submitted by SGB74 on April 8, 2026 - 3:45am

Not sure if these types of post are allowed here but for those who use portableapps or veracrypt in particular the developer is in need of some assistance to keep the project going.

I'll link the post he made recently regarding the project status below here and if anyone can direct him to the proper channels or provide some helpful information for him, I'm more than sure he and the FOSS community will greatly appreciate it!
